I bought an engine (232) for my 64 Classic and I have some storage
questions. I wont be putting it in until spring and I have it at my
warehouse on a pallet on its side. The intake and carb and fuel pump are
not on it. Will it hurt it to stay on its side, or should I stand it
upright. Should I put duct tape over the intake and fuel pump openings,
or use something else? As always, all help is appreciated.

It should be okay on it's side. I'd cover up the openings with something
but duct tape has two problems. First is if it freezes, it will fall off
(there is a mil spec version of it that doesn't have this problem). The
second is that it leaves a nasty mess. The green masking tape would be a
better choice to avoid the mess but I'm not sure how it holds up to freezing.
