My friend Bob Lee never went for a land speed record, but his 69 AMX did run at the 24 hours of Daytona, and one year was clocked doing 196 MPH during the race (401 and a Doug Nash 4 speed). His car could easily have done over 200 at the flats. Was the fastest "American" car at the 12 hours of Sebring in 82 or 83 also.
