Tony's achievements are extraordinary and Tony/Great White, could be called the fastest AMC during a practice run on radar at the Silver State course, or fastest AMC currently in the AMC hobby, or unofficial fastest observed AMC, but without completing the Internationally recognized requirement for a return run in theb opposite direction, an Official Timing organization to certify a 2-way average, and quite a few other Internationally recognized rules and requirements, there is no legitimate claim to a Land Speed Record. I hope Tony or someone else takes an AMC to Bonneville, Murdoc, Black Rock, or wherever to establish a new AMC Land Speed Record, but to date, (and without searching some hard to access archives), I believe that honor still belongs to Craig Breedlove, with his timed, certified, 2-way average run of 182 mph.
