Shipping the rims in pairs works well........
Sandwich 1/2" plywood inside some box
cardboard & center hole for rebar > between the rims.
Threaded rebar section that runs thru the center
of the two rims > wood 'ends' , 3/4" ply or something
that won't crack > must be wider than the center hole
of the rims > drill hole in center of woods for rebar
to pass thru > large flat washer and nut on either end
of the rebar & tighten down to 'snug' .
A 'drip' of loctite to seal the deal.
Wrap rims edges with old towel material & duct tape.
Box with cardboard.
Shipping was $25.00 pr. a year or so ago from CA. to NY
for a pair.
Brien.
