Bought an engine for my 64 Classic, and I need to pull it out of the
car that it is in. Any pointers/advice ? I checked the TSM and it is
only a paragraph and not a lot of information. As always any help is
appreciated.

If you can > run the car thru a Purple Parlour or such
U-Do It Car Wash & clean - degrease the engine while
it is in the Donor >a power washer or steam jenny will
do as well > you'll see later way.
Go to the local Pharmacy and buy a box of Latex Disposable
Surgical Gloves.
Get a Tin of that CITRUS hand degreaser > works great on
engines and such > did an entire frame of a Jeepster with it.
Don't use concrete blocks for anything beyond coffee cup stands.
Buy and Use small automotive adjustable stands under the frame while
you have the car jacked up on a hydraulic floor jack.
Hydraulic and mechanical jacks have been known to fail
& you won't have any air in your lungs
to scream for help or make a cell phone call with a car on'top
of your chest. Sounds fanatical > but spend that cash anyway.
Mine are from SEARS.
Use 'Baggies' to keep nuts - bolts - washers in.
Use TAPE and Magic Marker to mark the bags as what came from where.
Tape and Mark wires > if you're not using the harness from the donor
> cut the wires & leave some on the engine along with taped
description of what went where.
If you're using an engine hoist > those engine balancer add ons are
nice to have.
Pull the nose off the car so you can roll it backwards & have your
engine > rather than lifting up - over - and out - .
Save and mark all nuts - bolts - screws > have a friendly kid or
female bag and mark.
Keep a Radio Playing in the Background > this way any helpers will
forget about being cold and bored and underpaid.
Half a Dozen large Dunkin Doughnut Coffee Cups filled sitting
alongside a Dozen of their Finest Select will boost moral well
into the evening hours.
