Seven speed autos

I first brought up the question of why Lexus would
even consider such an animal. They are not on the
lower end of quality that they might have such a
little engine to as need the 7-spd, ala Kia.
They would be more inclined to have a higher end
engine that would develop enough torque that a 5-spd
is more than sufficient. Even a 6-spd is not needed in
such a car. 
I suspect that it is nothing but PR and the constant
shifting will generate complaints and the 7-spd will
be discontinued......Russ
