For wheels, tires, alignments I most strongly recommend Spence Wheel  
Alignnment, Glendale. Old-fashioned top-notch in every way. They  
would probably do a front end rebuild for you.

Westminster Transmissions in Westminster CA (Orange county) has done  
two transmissions, and doesn't balk at old stuff.
