I agree with you 100% Andrew, and I think the American public sees this for what it is -- trying to pass the buck. GM is trying to get protection from Japanese competition, I can see that already! They are using these "announcements" to set the stage for asking for tariffs or import limits so they will be "more competitive" in the market -- WITHOUT making improvements, but with current lack-luster product.
