I've seen a lot of used "GM" (Isuzu) panel trucks with turbo fours. Surely if the thing can lug 1.5 tons of cargo at a reasonable pace it would be fine (though a little lack luster in acceleration) in a Jeep! That Mercedes is likely an in-line -- I don't think they make a V diesel.
