79 Jeep question

I looked at a recovery tow Jeep today; 79 Cherokee (it
has an "S" on the badge, whats that?) 2 dr.
258-4spd-PS-PB and a real nice deep 3 row radiator
with shroud- yum!! Is the 258 in the Jeep anything
special or did they just pop in the cars engine.
Its in Salem, Oregon and I can't use the body, any
Jeepers around this neck of the woods need the
drivetrain, minus the engine and rad, of course. Call
