The T-5 is a further refinement of the SR4. The shifter shoud fall in the same place, but there are three different locations depending on the year and model the T-5 came out of. You need to search for T-5, and concentrate on Mustang sites -- they usually have most of the info.
1977-83 bells have the multi patterns. If you pull an SR4 a T-5 will definitely bolt onto that bell. You have to pull the trans to identify the multi pattern bell. If there are more mount holes (I think 8 total, might just be 7) you have the multi. All the holes should be there, but all may not be tapped.
The only thing you'll have a big problem mounting a T-5 to is a 64-71 six. For 72+ you need that multi pattern bell and a trans with the shifter in the right location. It's not quite a bolt in after that, but close.
