Then you DEFINITELY don't want a Pacer front end! I don't think you want the late 80s Diplomat/New Yorker either, but the earlier Volare/Aspen. Late model uses a pair of torsion bars that look and mount more like a split sway bar -- anchors on one end, then goes across the front and angle back to attach to the lower arm, also acts as a strut rod IIRC. The earlier one has a torsion bar parallel with the subframe. Height can be adjusted on it. At least that's what I think I remember -- maybe someone here has a clearer memory or more recent experience than I.

"She" must be the wife... I'd like to hear more Gary! Like I said (and someone else here), sounds like one heck of a custom tow rig! Makes me think a bit more about a GW instead of an XJ for later...
