A: Warning Will Robinson! The anchor bolts are the ones that hold the
bracket to the hub and not the little ones which hold the caliper to the
bracket! If you tighten them that much, you will strip the bolts, holes or
worse yet, shear off the caliper bolt!

I don't think I've ever seen a factory shop manual that
didn't specify torque settings for important bolts, and
the AMC Tam's I've got here are no exception. There most
certainly IS a torque setting!
At the end of each section, there's a listing of torque
specs. The Caliper Anchor Plate Mounting Bolts are torqued
to 80 ft/lbs according to page 2F-37 of the '77 TSM.
