A: There is a high possibility the harness was swapped because the early XJs
and MJs had the clutch slave directly over the fuse box the when they
leaked, the fluid destroyed the plastic of the fuse box, and corroded the
electrical connectors (I had to patch mine up too)

I'm pretty sure it wasn't re-vinned. It was an Eliminator model. Could have
been a late 87 or even an early one, no telling why the connector wasn't
there. Harness could have been changed due to electrical problems under
warranty to a later model early in the truck's life. Everything looked
pretty much untampered with, except for the placement of the light pole or
tree behind the front bumper...
