Geeze, everyone. I'm getting rude emails from people thinking I am putting down Gremlins. Come on, I own a 74/76 combo, used to drive and race a real nice 72 and have had a couple others in between. Lighten up. I was answering the question of putting different VIN numbers on a Gremlin and FROM THE DMV'S POINT OF VIEW they won't care. Of course I am using Oregons DMV as a point of reference but I don't think they are that much different from other states, save Calif (their attempts at a crusher law, y'know). I have registered Washington, Idaho and Wyoming cars through Oregon using a "funny" VIN. If the cars new VIN isn't stolen, that would be the only caveat, then DMV doesn't give a damn. Just make sure you have all registration, insurance and other basic info, that the car is decent looking, and so forth. To the DMV it's just an old car. Now granted, Oregon is a little more lax than other states but not more than some, registering a car with another VIN is a walk in the park as long as the new VIN and old car fit each other. Such as both being AMCs, 2-drs and the same general year. I use the same registration to run two Americans and have never had anyone look twice at it.....Russ ____________________________________________________ Sell on Yahoo! Auctions ? no fees.
