I don't know, but they were well-bred!

Well, both SMS and Legendary wanted swatches of my material, which in my case wasn't a big deal as the front seat was shredded. But, after sending it all off, I never heard from Legendary again, where as SMS got right back to me. When I called, they asked my name, and pulled "my file" within a minute or so and I did everything right over the phone with probably the same helpful lady. The rear panel of the front bench had to be special made, and they said it would be a 3 week delay, but I got it a week after I got the other material. SMS wasn't cheap, but their stuff was spot-on for the original material, and it was delivered as promised or before. I'll have no problem ordering from them again!
I got lucky with a local upholsterer. I went to the shop that did my American a couple of yrs ago, and he was too busy. Said if I dropped it off, maybe could get by the end of July. So he suggested another shop, that told me basically the same thing, and wouldn't promise a timeline. I was going to do that anyway, but then a guy from work knew of a lady that does work out of her house with a good reputation. I had to make a couple of calls tracking her down, but then I took the car to her so she could look it over, then pulled the seat and took it in, and she did the work within a week, was very reasonable, and great quality! She mainly does Hot Rods, and had a '39 Cheby coming in the day I picked up my seat. I'd much rather deal with someone like that, that loves old cars, uses this to support her and her husband's hobby (they have a '40 Ford), and takes in enough work to keep her busy, but not so much she's swamped. All her business is word of mouth. Oh, yeah, she!
also turned me on to a good local boneyard for old cars I didn't know anything about! Maybe can check it out this weekend...
