Electric Cooling Fans

When the OE Fan Clutch went bad on my son's 78 Toyota Pickup last year, I
decided to try an electric fan instead.
 I bought a "made in Italy" el-cheapo fan for $35 and a thermostatic switch
kit for $24. I wanted to keep the cost as low as possible to see how it
worked the first time. 
 It made a noticeable difference in acceleration and reduction in noise!! It
has worked well so far although the fan could use a bit more muscle as it
seems to run a good bit when the truck is in traffic. The engine is modified
with 10-1 push, cam, weber carb and home made headers.
 Lessons I have learned,,,
It's DEFINETLY worth the effort to use one. 
Do NOT scrimp on the size and power of the fan. Better to be a little too
big than too small.
If I was installing one on a hot rod or expensive rig I would opt for the
twin fan unit. That way if one fails you still have a backup. 
It might be a pretty good job to install one if the radiator is a sung fit
with A/C, be sure to allow enough time to do it.
