Just bought an '88 Eagle

Just bought another Eagle for Daily Driver Duty >
check the Ad :

"my aunt had an AMC eagle that she bought new in 1988. she passed 
away about 4 years ago and the car was left with us. it says 47 on 
the odo but has about 60,000. its been sitting for more than 3 years 
so it has to be towed. the battery is dead and we can't open the hood 
because the cable seized so it stayed in our yard. the body is in 
great condition. it needs some mechanical and some interior tlc. the 
only dent is on the hatch shown in the picture. it is really dirty 
right now because it has been sitting under a tree. when it was 
running everything was fine except the radiator had a leak. we will 
part with the car for $200. this is an incredible deal because we are 
just looking to get it out of the yard and i'm into vw's so i don't 
have time to work on this car. also the bottom of the dash is off the 
car. we have it in the house."

Car is in Rhode Island, some 4 hours trip one way.

Battery is dead and the hood cable is frozen..........
anyone with a 'Hot Tip' as to getting the hood open
on an '88 Eagle, I'm all Ears !

Car will be trailered back to New York .
