The Nash Glass Tower built by Whiting Corporation was eighty feet tall and
continually rotated sixteen Nash and Lafayette automobiles up and down in a
so-called "paternoster" fashion. It was intended both to showcase Nash cars
and to suggest new solutions to urban parking. Today, it and Nash are
forgotten,

but its concept is still "smart" enough for DaimlerChrysler to use

even if it won't "tip" US buyers toward their cars.

Smart ain't coming here, at least for awhile.
