A: The 4.2L sometimes had serpentine belts in FSJs after '82 (especially
export rigs. I saw 4 in Canada) but the AMC V8 ran Vee belts till the end of
the line. I helped a couple guys working on a 401 a couple years ago dig up
the parts they needed to convert to serpentine belt, but lost the paper with
the part numbers and diagram. (they had to change the impeller on the water
pump for reverse rotation)

As far as I know all full size Jeeps use V-belts.
The different compressor numbers will either desgnate v-belt or serpantine.
They may also designate dissplacement. Which one is best? I would ask.
Larger is not always better with compressors for A/C.
P/S Pump will match the old box, just change out the high pressure fitting
and valve and spring from your old P/S pump.
If you have all the 73 stuff get the adapter Frank mentioned and don't worry
about changing it over. I posted the answers just in case someone else was
interested and because you asked!
