Just make sure you get a matching distro gear. The main problem with chewed up distro gears (replacement gears) is that they don't perfectly match/mesh with the cam gear. That's assuming everything else is in good working order and there isn't an oiling, cam walk, or distro alignment issue (like the bad Crown covers, which should be gone by now). For oiling just make sure the cam oil feed hole isn't blocked and the grooves in the cam gear are correct. Some new cam gears have the grooves partially blocked by casting flash, so check closely any time you change the timing gears.
