Weel, Lesson leraned to late.
If you are going to scratch build a T-5, DON"T Buy used parts unless you have some very detailed pics or can lay your hands on them!
The first set of gears I received are so worn out they are unusable. Gears are fine. The synchonizer Dogs/Teeth are worn out from torque load almost halfway through!
Of course the guy offered to refundmy money if I returned the gears, minus shipping both ways. Which will net me about $12 back on my $46 investment. If he ever sends me the the refund.
I wouldn't be so bummed, but I have anotyher chunk of money out for secodn set of gears, input and cluster. So I'm dreading what I will recieve this time. If this batch is O.K. then I'm only a little bummed. If it's junk I'm in the whole big time!
Anyway, when dealing with this stuff, buy NEW! Ariel Gear has a website and sells at what seems to be the lowest prices I can find anywhere. They are a major dist and seem to supply many of the other smaller places. their prices seem to be about 2/3 of what others want.
What Ever I need after getting this next lot will be bought new from Ariel Gear!
