i learned this from a page in a gm-oriented website. it had specs for
saginaw gears from the mid '60s to mid '90s at least. unfortunately,
i can't find the url again...
OK, it's RTFM time! The time for this sub-project for me is not
now, but I do want to eventually find a 2.5 turn box, and that
will be the time for this research.
