A: That's 2mpg highway cruising. In town makes no difference. When I put 33"
tires on my Comanche, I lifted it 4 1/2" and put the 4x4 front axle in. With
3.08 gears and the BA 10/5 trans, I went from 18 mpg to 23 mpg because I was
almost totally freeway crusing (150 miles a day to a low paying job. Now I
make more and drive 2 1/2 miles, mostly downhill, to work) I now have 3.73
gears and my mileage dropped back to 18 mpg hwy.

" A: The fuel economy difference is minimal. Maybe 2mpg.
2mpg is almost 10% isn't it?
" The D30 hub kit i$
" expen$ive and a much easier way is pull the guts and axleshafts from the
" front and undo the ujoint at each wheel and put the stub shafts back in.
The
" housing weight difference will be @25lbs
that's a good thought.
