Frank Swygert (farna@xxxxxxx), you said... >I should have figured you'd have been using your TSM Gwen! I was going >from memory, and I'm most intimitely familiar with the 63 and earlier >cars. I thought AMC had used generators in the base model cars through 65. ::nod:: The TSM is typically my first stop. To put the initial list together, I went through it, Service Specs, Owners Manuals, every Rambler Reader I happen to have (only back to late 2001), and even some of the NOS parts on and around the car. You are not entirely in the wrong, BTW. I did miss that a generator system *was* still in use -- according to the 1961-1964 Rambler Service Specifications -- 6401s (Americans) without A/C had a Delco-Remy 1102333 generator. This said, the electrical system overview (page 1 of Electrical in the 1964 American TSM) says... "The charging circuit consists of the battery, generator, alternator, regulator, charge light, charging circuit wiring, and energized circuit." This differs from the 1964 Classic and Ambassador (again, page 1 of Electrical), which says... "The charging circuit consists of the battery, alternator, regulator, charge light, charging circuit wiring, and the body metal."
