Thanks for the tip, but I dropped the 904 off this morning for
rebuild.  I did search for Eagle, or Jeep product, hyd clutch
stuff but never found a single one in the yards I visited in the
last 6 months.
This is going to be a daily driver; the 904 with 258, all dead
stock, will be best overall. TransGo shift kit, four instead of
three bands, synth fluid, decent cooler, ought to be a nice
gearbox. In 10 years if it needs parts I can probably get those,
same with the 258.
The 70-up (more or less) use a lot of really common parts that
should be either available or fittable from other makes. There's
already a few suspension parts unobtainium but are now fittable
(the spring town pivot bushings), the rest are broad application
or makeable custom (springs).
