Correct, AMC T4 and T5 had 4.03-1 1st gear.
I'm wanting a "close ratio" 2.95-1 1st gear trans.
I also don't want to build a new driveshaft, redo speedo cable change my trans mount ETC;
I allready have the AMC T5 in place and the 4.03-1 first is too steep with 3:31's and 255/60/15" tires. Plus the gear spread is pretty ugly too. Thats what started my quest to build the 2.95 first gear AMC T-5!
