A: I suppose in a light enough car and built, the 200R4 would be okay. I sure wouldn't use one in a full size Jeep that's going to pull some weight! I may be getting an AW4 to put into my J4000 behind my 304. I figure it'll handle it fine, since the 304 isn't as strong as a 4.6L stroker. (it's just the trans controls I'll have fun with!) They really work well in retrofits, becasue they don't require space to clear enlarged cases. They are the same length as a Turbo 350, pretty much a bolt in replacement for them. I'd still just fine a two wheel drive AW4, It's meant to go behind the 4.0L and doesn't have th efunky 3.08 first gear ration that encourages the lunging shift to second gear becasue of to much ration spread. Anyone running a AW4 behind and AMC V-8? I'd like to know how they hold up.
