So along comes AMCRC. Here's a novel idea. Another club to take car of the non performace cars by AMC but only up to 1969. But wait, the performance cars for 68 and 69 are kinda welcome, too. Very Nash Car Club in attitude. Family friendly, every one welcome. Just be sure your car is no older than 1969. NAMDRA. Sorry Jock, don't know a whole lot about your club, not a drag race fan myself so I apologize for not being able to comment fully. My take is that it is a performance based club, with perhaps an emphasis on drag racing. Also, fair enough. No appearance of pretence here, either. Once again, you knew what you were getting. No surprises or hidden ajendas. (Not my cup of tea, but hey, you are what you are and are great for those who want that kind of club. I take my hat of to you for that!!) Now.. mid to late 80s. Here comes AMCWC. AMO has finally managed to p*** off enough people that Mitch decides to add support for some of the non AMX cars at first and later all AMC 1954-present to his club or should I say business. Once again, keeping all personalities out of this, Larry made no pretense of running a club, but rather a business. He tried hard to provide a home for all AMC cars with his magazine that had articles for all. Even though AMX was his first love I can tell you that no matter what AMC vehicle I took to one of his meets it was always welcome; 6cly to V8. He ran this "club" for a darn long time and finally said enough was enough. He had had enough of the crap, too. I salute him as well. He lasted a heck of a lot longer than I did at the national level. I had had enough of this by 1980. Lest I forget, there were a gaggle of splinter special interest clubs formed for a particular model. Met, Marlin, Pacer and Matador Coupe come to mind. I am sure there were more. Very hard to maintain a full fledged national type club with such a small fan base. Thanks for trying, though. ============================================================= Posted by wixList Archiver -- http://www.amxfiles.com/wixlist
