Gary, it looks like a vinyl covered high pressure hose. The hose itself should have some writing about what temp range it's good for on it. It should be fine up to around 300 degrees, which is more than enough.

I am contemplating buying this 390 for my SC/Rambler and have a question
about the oil line modification. When looking at the picture of the
modification, it sure looks like it is made of a garden hose type material.
Would this hold up to the heat of the engine. I have tried to email the
seller but no response yet. This would be a great pickup for me as my family
and I are going out to Vegas in April and I can crate it myself and get it
shipped back to the east coast. Thanks in advance.
