Re: Tim's 63 Classic 660 Wagon

Thanks Rich.....it's amazing how many folks come and thank me for restoring
it. You just don't see 'em anymore but literally everybody had one of these
in the early 60s...so everyone's got a story to tell. I can't tell you how
many times total strangers tell me how they had their first, uhhh (clears
throat), first "experience" in a car just like that one.

The carpet turned out good, huh! Can you believe I've been trying to
figure out how to deal with that since I was 16 (when I first decided I
wanted to restore the car). The plastic is impossible to find...that PVC
just didn't stand up to the sunlight....and to my knowledge there's no after
market replacement.

It wasn't hard to do...we used a 1/8" particle board to create the
backing...it fit right into the notch where the plastic used to be. Then
when I had the carpet installed...I had the guy sew a custom fit piece that
went down the side and up over the wheel well. Turned out great. Hardest
part was hiding the wiring harness that went up over the wheel well under
the plastic.

Thanks again man....

T.
