Re: AC parts

If you have the stock York mount for the 390 stop by a local AC shop. They sell a Sanden conversion bracket that goes between the Sanden and York mount. Doesn't look "kludgy" when installed.

The aftermarket or dealer installed units didn't run off the PS pulley. They usually had a pulley that bolted to the damper via the puller bolt holes. It won't matter where you run it from as long as you get everything lined up right. IIRC the pulley is about the same diameter as the damper pulley. Since this is your driver I'd just put the compressor on and see how the belts can be routed. May have to buy a different length belt or re-route one or more, but as long as everything is still turning in the right direction it won't matter. If you go with an aftermarket setup like Vintage Aire or Southern Air (those guys are in Greenville, SC -- dropped by their place once, should be able to find them on the web) they should have the crank pulley. Using a stock 232 York mount and the Sanden adapter you should be able to adjust things to align properly. The Sanden conversion mounts I've seen have slotted holes to adjust front to back and use the original mount holes to adjust belt!
  tension.

There is a Mopar part # (which I don't have in front of me), and it's obsolete from them, so it's a junkyard item or possibly maybe there's a vendor out there that caters to Mopar or AMC or Jeep that may have some; ideas? This is my '69 Rambler (American) and I have all the stock dash stuff, but want to put a Sanden on the engine.

Not sure if the lower pulley is different as well. If someone has a complete dash setup, I'd be interested, but I was going to probably use an aftermarket underdash unit. This car is my driver, and AC is needed here in the warm South! I'll also be driving this car to the AMO Nats in Atlanta this summer.
