The Good Chinese rods start in price at about $349.00 These
would be
comparable to thje SCAT pieces that some thought were too high
at
$379, then $399, then $450, And now I am told $650???? Scat as
example
sells a cheaper I beam rod as well. But they get so cheap that the
low
ball ones you can get for less than $200.00 a set, while the
''grading'' of the I beams goes up in about $269.00 Some other
Import
rods I have seen on Close Outs at $149.00 a set.
============================
What are you talking about ?
Chinese ? -
Those Figures your quoting are off eBay & Maddog Racing,
from close out stock they are getting rid of - a function
of lack of sale and cost to warehouse.......... not Chinese,
from what I read - they were SCAT product.
After I posted the low figure - which was up from $375.00
to $399.00, to the amc-list , somehow the price then jumped
twice overnight - which leads me to believe that Gouging
the AMC camp - a Real Phenomenon - sucks .
SCAT has been around for decades - being first in building
Air Cooled VW Hi-Perf engines - Dune Racers - which test a rods
strength
with crazy thermal cycling etc. - especially on their Turbo Engines
- and having had a '64 Porsche,
I'm familiar with those camps - and this is the First time I've
heard their product compared to 'Chinese' oh Great Won-Ton One !
If rod failures were happening with SCAT products - I would
have heard of it long ago from the Air Cooled Camp - and, I didn't .
Pistons & Barrels and Heat were the problem.
Chinese............ Pork Fried Rice .
