There was a link in an email a few days ago, might be able to find it in
the archives, that said the early 80s SX/4 was in the top 10 for
"Sleeper" collector cars. I printed it out for my daughter since we're
working on an 81 SX/4 for her. She got a kick out of it but not sure
where it is now.
Will keep looking.

Nice little car. They have their following; I'd pick one up if I came
across a decent one for this kind of price. Like most AMCs, their
collectibility is 'niche'; meaning that they have their following, and
as long as you are never in a real hurry to sell it, it should be a
safe bet. As for ownability, I've owned a little Spirit, found it a
nice reliable car, but I'm sure some 'Eagle' followers can give you
far more than I can about what to look for specifically (all I know
for sure to look for with any spirit is rust out in the inner & outer
rockers, floors, usual stuff).

What is the 'collectablity/ownability' of the 1981 SX/4? I came
across a clean one the other day for sale for around $2k. Are they a
safe bet or worth the money?
Ideas? Opinions?
Thanks,
Brian
