Good AMC Day

After about a 3 week hiatus, I decided to go to the two local Pull-a-Part junkyards today. Boy, I'm glad I did!

Yard number one yielded an AMC A/C bracket that I had been in search of for a while. There was also an 82 Concord DL wagon that didn't have anything I needed, along with an 81 Concord wagon that's been there a few weeks. 

Yard number two yielded the big score. There is a 75 Gremlin X that's been there for several weeks. Someone pulled the grungy 258 from it and a few other miscellaneous parts since I was last there. The hot discovery was several rows over--a 74 Hornet hatchback---still housing a 304 V8! After a few celebratory "woo-hoo"s, I got to work pulling the V8 crossmember and brackets. I also scored a timing cover I needed for my 4.0 buildup (already off the engine, so I didn't have to worry about bringing a balancer puller!), plus the glovebox door from the Hornet. I got the crossmember and brackets for the princely sum of $8.36.

No, they're not for sale.
