258 headers

I would like to get some headers for my 72 Gremlin 258, seems this would not
be a problem - I have tons of room, no ac, no power anything. The only place
I have found is www.cliffordperformance.com but they want me to also get an
intake & carb to make it all work.

I can find headers for the 304 from different places - about 1/2 the cost.
I also can find Jeep headers listed for '72 258 but I "think" they would not
fit - while Jeep is AMC in '72, the pictures of the headers look like they
would run into the alternator.

My question is - am I off base or can I get away with it - OR - is there an
alternative to Clifford? Is Clifford worth it, and just forget my wild
ideas? I kinda wanna do this a bit at a time (stretch the money) but if I
cant, I cant!
