A: Won't the AW4 bellhousing bolt onto the Toyota 5 speed auto? (reason I
ask is because I may be going the opposite way with a diesel motor into a
Jeep)

Just a note to say thanks to all on the List
who, over these years, make my eMail most
'Interesting' -
(ok, who here remembers Ed Francis>?)
.... recent List talks about 'Colombos' Borgward
Convertible' brought him to mind for some reason.........
On the AMC Front:
I've located an Original '71 Gremlin Sunroof
& OEM manufacturer (recently
bought out) in England - and a stash of their
NOS later production sliding rag-t0p kits.
The NOS units have a large roof opening of 36"x36"
and will be viewing the Original one - still
installed in a Gremlin roof clip - sometime
after Xmas - sorta' reminds
me of the 1950 Nash Convertible.
I WILL be tying the Uni-Body
sub-frames together & brazing all the seams
The NOS units have a flip up Air Spoiler -
a *Nice* real world touch ,
- is New and probably won't leak - but
the thought of having 'an Original' has me
travelling a few Counties over to view the Clip,
which still has the Sunroof headliner installed,
hmm....... wonder what I should do ........
The 6 speed Lexus Automatic Trans is getting
an Adapter to mate it to the 258 - which has
a 4.0 EFi intake / GM Turbo ECM - &
I just may whack the plenum area off
to mount a large round canister plenum to the runners
& mount the TB at one end - rather than having the TB
on top - we'll see later.
Other 'in the works' item is a 'Different' Grille for the
Kammback.
Maybe an 'Aero' look - something akin
to the AMC Turbo car - with hideaway headlamps.......
easier to clean the Bugs off .....
I WAS able to finally locate one of the later AMC CB-am-fm
Radios - with the large 'Block' style faceplate rather than
the more plentiful rectangle of which I now have Five of,
soon to be eBay'ed - and - I lucked into a NOS
wire harness for it as well. Probably get a CD changer
for actual Sound Production - as the AMC unit looks
Ancient!
......and I'm still looking for
a 2dr. Power Window switch set-up & harness.
So that is the Yearly AMC Update, what is whaa? on my Kammback Build -
'Have a Happy Motoring Holiday' - and "Here's to 'ya"! ~~!
Brien.
