A: Tom. I had 2 of those things back in the late '70's - early '80s in 
Canada. Electro-clutch was my favorite part. It was auto shift, but you had 
to put it in neutral for traffic lights or you'd wear out your brakes 
holding it from driving ahead. It would momentarily cut spark and the clutch 
when you shifted to neutral and re-engage as it went to the next gear. The 
neutral switch was burned out and I replaced it with a floor mounted 
highbeam switch to do the same job. At the time, it was a Mopar/French 
connection, and no, I wouldn't want to own one again either! (I replaced the 
Paris/Rhone charging system with a GM 1 wire)

Same bookstore, couldn't resist -- two copies of a 1970
Chilton's manual for the Simca. Near-perfect condition; one
has slight cover dust staining from being on the shelf. Both
look like they were never even *looked at*. $8 each. They have
beautiful four-color plastic overlays of the engine, a nice
little 4-banger.

I've heard of them, might have seen one, no recollection. Looks
like a nice little econobox, might make a fun project car.

If anyone is absolutely dying for a Simca service manual,


let me know.
