A 1979 or later T-150 bell MIGHT work. As far as I can tell all 1979-83 (possibly back to 77) stick shift bells used by AMC are the multi pattern type. The only way to tell is to pull the transmission. If there are 6-7 bolt holes (including the four the trans bolts up with) it's a multi pattern bell. In some years all the holes aren't tapped, but that would be easy to take care of. The only bell guaranteed to wotk with a T-5 is an SR-4 four speed bell. I've only seen 79 and later ones, and they are all multi pattern. I used one of the multi pattern bells (from an SR-4 equipped car) to mount an old style T-96 to a 4.0L. Of course the T-96 won't hold up long behind that much power -- the synchro lasted maybe 150 miles! I replaced the trans about a year later before any "hard" damage was done.
