Mark,

Check the cost via Fedex Ground service.  They are generally quite a bit
less than UPS for comparable service.    It should be covered under Fedex
Package service (sames as UPS).  They can also provide regular trucking
service now and they have a link there to access that service which is
probably more expensive than the Package Service cost.

It is generally a worthwhile saving to go Fedex instead.

Subject: Shipping a tranny

Anyone have any best easiest ways to ship a tranny advice????
I've weighed the S-42 automatic [135lbs] and measured it 37x22x22" boxed on
a wood base and in a cardboard box. The UPS quote from here in Morgantown,
26505 to California came in at $120.50.
   I just want to make sure that is the easiest/best way to do it. If I can
do it better and cheaper I will refund any difference to the guy buying the
trans. I just wanted to ask around before sending it out.
