Cool salvage yard find!

I was at the yard on Saturday pulling some parts from the lone
AMC they had in stock (1982 Eagle Limited wagon). I finished
up with the Eagle, and just for something to do I poked around
in some of the surrounding cars.

I looked in the trunk of a Chrysler Lebaron and found a toy
diecast police car. I picked it up and looked it over, and
couldn't believe what I had found... it was a Matador!

Obviously a keeper! Pictures are linked below:

Not a high quality casting, just a no-name "Made In China".
Still, I've never seen the Matador immortalized in diecast
before. I have some Aurora AFX Matadors, but that's it until
now.

This thing just may become a restoration project of its own!
I'd probably lose the dome light and paint it as a regular
sedan. Based on the limited detail in the grille and
taillights, it even looks like a 1972 - the absolute best
year of Matador in my unbiased opinion!

1972 Matador 4-door, 401 police interceptor :)
