I just have to say this once!!!!! "OH PLEEEASE" you are not sticking your finger in a running motor with the plug wire hooked to your thumb. Your only tapping the motor with the starter till you feel it on the compression stroke then you "WITH OUT YOUR FINGER IN THE SPARK PLUG HOLE TURN THE MOTOR TO TDC!!!! His dist. may be 180 degree's out that is why it spits back throught the carb. Go back to basic's!!! 40 years of experience tells me he should start from square one again and it will run unless there is somthing wrong with that Petronix ign. A died in the wool points man here.
