I have an unverified note of interest for you if your rear interior panels are shot on your convertible.
I have been told that Americans, Ambassadors and Classics al shared the interior quarter trim from 64-66 [67 American]. Some are IIRC [If I recall Correctly] painted fiberglass and some have a coating on them that makes them really hard to make them look nice once the coating fails. Also, again IIRC, the earlier 65-65? versions had the coating crap and again [one last time] IIRC 66 had the painted Fiberglass panels. So, if all this info is correct. You should be looking for quarter trim panels for a 66 Classic,Rebel,Ambassador and 66-67 American to replace your earlier versions.
Anyone out there actually know if this info is correct?
My 65 Ambassador convertible has the crap covered panels and I have a set of Fiberglass panels to paint and install[I was told they are the 66 Panels]. I just haven't had time to work on it at all.
