I can tell you that Larry definitely has more of these emblems. If they were offered to you in a second chance it was because he has more of them (I know this for fact!) not because the high bidder was a shill. I will tell you one more thing about him, he is very honest.  He's been dealing in AMC parts (he's a former AMC employee) for years and has helped many AMC hobbyists. He has a very good reputation in the hobby and has nothing to gain in the hobby by shilling but a bad reputation. As long as he's been doing this, I would doubt highly that he would risk a bad reputation for $100.
