A: The fuel cells being built here in Seattle are making hydrogen, not
electricity alone.

Now Jim, I know you're a good mechanic, but how the heck are you going to
convert that ENGINE to run like a MOTOR? Okay, in the engineering world an
ENGINE is something that works mechanically, a MOTOR is electrical in
nature. Fuel cells use hydrogen to produce electricity to run a MOTOR. An
ENGINE can't be run on electricity. Technically an ENGINE could be run by an
electric MOTOR (an engine doesn't have to burn fuel), but that's not the
kind of engine we're talking about.
Okay, I think it safe to assume you meant the engine you're building is
multi fuel capable. I did feel a need to correct the fuel cell error
(produces electricity, not a burnable gas), couldn't help doing it in a glib
way! Running that engine of your on alcohol would be good, wonder if the
gov't would give you a license for a still to make your own? ;> Only
problem with alky is that fuel mileage is around half -- you'd need a bigger
tank.
