A: It may have been dealer installed. The '74 that Javelin Bill had several 
years ago had one (matched the blue interior too!) The '80 Jeep Cherokee I'm 
parting (and the '83 I had before) has one a lot like it. My kids call it 
the "Oh $#!t!" handle when I go offroad. Only see it on the non-AC vehicles.
