Re: Is this **THE** Matador Machine?

Well, I'm *reasonably* sure the Machine decals were on the deck lid and front fenders, possibly glovebox as well, but these cars are so rare I can't say 100%. I do know it wasn't something the dealers did. It may be that some dealers ordered "Machine" packages before AMC had made a final decision on retaining it for the Matador and the early orders were fullfilled before it was canned. This is just speculation on my part, however. As noted, the package wasn't heavily promoted. I don't think the semi-gloss hood was used like it was for the "solid color" 70 Machines either. That would make it just an option package. I'm not even sure the hood scoop was used, though that would seem likely. Anyone know for sure about the scoop and decals???
