cloning a gremX?

ok so i got given a few of the 'X' trim peices, a bit for the grill etc by 
my brother as he saw them at a garage sale or something and thought of me. 
anyway, they are pretty sweet, and its got me thinking that i'd like a 
gremlin X. But since mine isn't, if i get everything that an x model has and 
install it its almost as good right? but the question is... what exactly 
does that entail? it isn't just the trim stuff is it? i had oriionaly 
thought that that meant you got the V8, but i've seen gremlinX's on Ebay and 
such with the 6 as well, so what am i missing is it just they got the 'posi' 
rear ends? or did it not realy mean anything from a performance view, much 
like the levi edition is all about style?
