Use a www.google.com search for the
Trans Am cars.
You'll fill up your hard-drive!
The Stock Color schemes are very hard
to beat - as the angularity of the 'Humpers'
and that swooping sail panel have a language
all their own.
I went rounds on this with
my '72 AMX before it was stolen .
Understand that the Race Car Paint 'Qualities'
were captured from an American Flag..
yes .......not just their being RWB -
and that is why they seem
sorta' weak sometimes and then in
the right light - they work.
I would not do this in any Pearl.
Having gone thru the 'Paint' fever
myself - I've come away not putting
Pearl on anything outside of a 'Trick'
Show vehicle.
Cadillac used the Pearl on their 2 seater
years ago - and it only looks right at night
under lights. In daylight after some mileage
it looks c'heesy'.
If I'm reading your post correctly -
I would notch up the paint with the
type of Metallic VW is currently using -
but not as much - 'just a Taste' .
That will add the richness 'Gleam' aspect which
I felt missing in the Factory Paints at different
light exposures
Too much and the contrasts will be
out of s'ync' - .
Go conservative
with the Metallic Effect & the Subtlety
will be a winner .
I'm currently shopping paint for the
Kammback......... so class is in session !

I am thinking about doing a clone of the
hump fendered Javelin Trans -
Am car and would appreciate any members who
have a car ( 71-74 Javelin)
painted the r/w/b paint scheme to send me a
picture as reference, I
don't plan to use the traditional colors,
but would like to use
metallics and or pearls. Any help would be
appreciated.
