and Repo Parts Report
Earlier I had asked/commented about the difficulty of
detail masking 73/74 Javelin tail light lens to
repaint the silver portion. I was able to get a
satisfactory (not perfect) job by using an adhesive
masking film and trimming it with a sharp knife. I
got the film from Dick Blick art supplies (on the
web). After I trimmed the film in place I sprayed the
edges lightly with clear enamel and let that dry
before spraying the silver.
I also needed to replace on backup lens because the
clear portion was crazed. These are available as
repos from several vendors. I bought one from APD for
$59 plus postage. The quality is pretty good but the
lens required some minor trimming on the edges to fit
properly.
